Microsoft thinks it found a way to make PCs relevant again

Key announcements include the launch of Copilot Pro, a premium subscription that offers advanced AI features across Microsoft 365 apps, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for $20 per month. Copilot Pro users gain priority access to the latest AI models, including GPT-4 Turbo, and enhanced image creation capabilities. Additionally, Microsoft is expanding the availability of Copilot for Microsoft 365 to small and medium-sized businesses, removing previous seat minimum requirements, and enabling purchase through Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers. This expansion aims to make AI-powered productivity tools accessible to a broader range of organizations, enhancing tasks like data analysis, meeting summaries, and email management with AI-driven insights.

Google adds live threat detection and screen-sharing protection to Android

Google has enhanced Android's security with live threat detection and screen-sharing protection. The live threat detection uses AI within the Google Play Protect system to identify and disable malicious apps or alert users and Google for further review. New screen-sharing features in Android 15 hide sensitive information and allow users to share content from specific apps only. Additionally, Android 15 will limit sideloaded apps' access to sensitive permissions and protect against threats from cell site simulators by alerting users about unencrypted networks and potential surveillance​.
