Cruising in style: thanking top performers

Written by Pulse Technology | April 06, 2026

Here’s a “perk” you don’t find at too many companies – a cruise from Rome to Barcelona, and along the French Riviera.

Twenty-one people-- Pulse employees and family members together –recently returned from a ten-day excursion through some of Europe’s greatest wonders, all part of how we rewarded top performers for their 2025 efforts and contributions.

The President’s Club is a Pulse institution that has gone back many years. Over that time Pulse employees have gone to places including the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, California, and Alaska. Each trip was planned and organized to thank people for their hard work and successful efforts.

A company’s biggest asset is its people

Why do we do this?

We know that the greatest asset any company has is not its inventory – including printers, copiers, our video walls, and all the other equipment on site. It’s not the furniture, not the buildings, and not even the company’s bottom line of income. It is the employees who build the company.

Our thanks to Pulse’s 2026 recipients Mildret Delgadillo, Andris Hansen, Gerry Rios, Rick Silva, Paul Miceli, Tim Branion, Greg Fox, Nancy Mathena, Abigail Mancione, Joelle Christie, Chip Miceli, and Terry Miceli.

The itinerary on this year’s President’s Club getaway included visits to Rome, Naples, Menton (France), Genoa, Italy, Villefranche (France), Valencia (Spain), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Palamos and Barcelona, Spain.

Feedback from our attendees

Terry Miceli said, “There were so many events to choose from – excursions, touring a winery, touring Genoa (Italy), and other cities along the way. The ship was great; the food and service were fabulous.”

Tim Branion has been with the company for eight years and this was his 4th President’s Club vacation. He said, “By far, this was the most amazing trip ever. Chip and the team went out of their way to make this a special trip! I studied Roman history in college, so seeing Pompei was incredible.” Tim, who previously worked for Xerox and Circuit City, said, “I’ve never worked at a place where I could call the owner; I can’t convey enough my appreciation for what they do for us.”

Paul Miceli, Director of Audio- Visual, said, “We stopped at 2 ports on Italy and 2 ports in France and 3 ports in Spain on this trip. The ship was beautiful and amazing, the tours at the ports were great; I learned a lot about each city that we stopped at. I like these kinds of trips, learning about history and seeing things never seen before.”

Why we tell this story

We typically use this space to offer business advice and solutions on a range of topics related to technology. But we wanted to change the content a little this week and thank the people who keep Pulse Technology running smoothly.

We are grateful to the people who make up our company. Our family business strives to treat everyone here like family, and to thank and recognize the people who contribute each day. The greatest asset for any business is not printers and copiers, AV video walls, or other inventory. It’s not the buildings that a business owns, or even the company’s bottom line from its sales. All of these are very important and necessary to the successful running of a business. But a company’s greatest asset is its people.

We support our team with incentives for performance, such as the President’s Club. We also know that supporting employees requires much more than simply offering getaways. We have a strong mentoring program in place for new hires, where an experienced team member supports them. We offer ongoing training, and regular reviews where the president and/or vice president meet with every employee at least once a year for both an evaluation but also an opportunity to hear the employee’s feedback and suggestions. We also run a culture committee, which was formed to provide a vehicle for assessing and improving culture at the company. We seek employee suggestions and also offer a forum for occasional conflict resolution. And a large part of the committee’s role is planning activities that are morale-builders. These can include a cookout after hours, scavenger hunt, bowling, or others. Each department holds an after-hours cookout once a month, to make working more enjoyable. We believe in hard work but in having fun too.

We believe our efforts have paid off, having been named a “Best Place to Work” for five years in a row.
